What Happens During Your Dental Checkup?
During the examination portion of your routine dental visit, Dr. Collier or Dr. Smith will inspect your mouth for any cavities or decay. They may also take an X-ray to check for bone decay, wisdom teeth, and other problems that aren’t visible to the naked eye. While you’re in the chair, they’ll conduct an oral cancer screening and inspect for any abnormalities.
What Happens During Your Dental Cleaning?
During your cleaning, we will use several specially crafted tools to remove plaque and tartar from hard-to-reach places that you can’t get to with a regular toothbrush. Using a small dental mirror and a scaler, they’ll begin to remove plaque and tartar collected below your gum line and in-between your teeth.
After your teeth are tartar-free, we’ll use a high-powered brush and a gritty prophylaxis paste to clean and polish your teeth. You’ll finish off with a quick floss and rinse and head out with a fresh smile you can’t wait to let shine!
